Hello and happy Pesach!

Today is the first day that I am off school and work, it seems that no one cares that the university has final exams or mid-terms on just about every Jewish holiday of the year! But that's America! I need to go to Israel if I want another calendar LOL!

I have read your blog quite a few times, and I think you do a great job here. I want you to know that I'm a Liberal though...but not the kind you're talking about at all. I think it's just the tzedakah side of it that I feel strongly about and I try to be tolerant of other people so that makes me socially and fiscally Liberal (in a hand up sort of way)..but I have no problem fighting tyranny! I don't support these Left wing crazies, I'm kind of a JFK or Joe Biden kind of Liberal...or as my other blogger friend calls it a "Hard Wilsonian".

Some Kurdish friends and I went to the Armenian Genocide commemoration. I'm glad you are writing about it. I wish that the US and some other countries would recognize the genocide. The Turks might lose it, but seriousely, what are they going to do? It's certainly not in their best interest to act, and they are not stupid people at all. I go to school with Turks and they are more informed than most people think they are. They just have this national identity problem...and I'm not sure what direction they are going to take. If they succumb to their ultra-nationalist side, they will almost certainly divide into sections, which is what they think in their paranoia the US is out to do to them anyway, but if they listen to their voices of reason, and stay on path towards EU membership, then perhaps they will get through it okay. It's interesting looking into the financial investments by Turkey into Kurdistan, for all their bluster, they seem quite willing to deal. They don't seem to like working with Iraqis, and seem to prefer the Kurds...go figure! Now if we could tame their tongues on both sides someone might find they are more allies than they think. Turkey may even find it advantageous, if we were considering this purely rational, to sever some of their Kurdish areas and allow Kurdistan to form as an ally. It could happen! I'm an eternal optimist.

I read on Debka today that King Hussein is thinking of creating a Palestinian satrapy sort of arrangement if Abbas' government falls. He has talked with Israel and rather than have a Hamas controlled neighbor both seem to have agreed they would prefer Jordan to control the area. Strange isn't it? Lot's of good news in the Middle East these days!

Well, take care, and thanks for your visits...always know that I come here too, and love what you write.

Shalom
Emmunah
